Rosmarie Rohatgi is running for Rancho Santa Fe School District Board and is endorsed by the Republican Party of San Diego County.
Rohatgi and her family first moved to the Rancho Santa Fe School District in 2015, when her son was about to start kindergarten. As someone who is passionate about the importance of education and development for children, Rosemarie and her husband pledged Summa Cum Laude level ($100,000) to the Rancho Santa Fe Educational Foundation and are also a Gold Level Community Partner ($5,000) with the foundation.
Before moving to San Diego, Rohatgi received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Oregon and went on to graduate with honors with a doctorate in dentistry from Oregon Health Sciences University, completing her residency at UCLA. Rosemarie then built a successful business focusing on sleep-related breathing disorders.
Throughout her career, Rohatgi has served in a multitude of Board Member positions. Some positions she held include the Board Member for the Parkinson’s Association of San Diego and the Board of Directors for the American Parkinson’s Disease Association. She currently holds an elected Board Member position for the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine, as well as Board of Directors for the RSF Community Center.
With these positions, Rosemarie has had great experiences that encouraged her to develop effective leadership skills. Additionally, as a mother of two children in the Rancho Santa Fe School District, she can relate to fellow parents on a personal level, understanding the importance of putting the children first when making decisions for the schools.
The main focus points for Rohatgi include individualized growth for students, collaboration, and fiscal responsibility. Providing support for all students based on their academic performance is a top priority for her. That way, children can be encouraged to grow and succeed at their own level and be prepared for their future endeavors. Collaborating with parents, teachers, administrators, superintendents, and other board members will encourage the most effective process for making decisions that will enhance the learning environment for all students.
