Candidate Profile: Dane White For Escondido Union High School Board

Written by Nicholas Vetrisek

Dane White is the Republican Party of San Diego County’s endorsed candidate for Escondido Union High School District Area 4. He is the incumbent candidate as well as a former project manager and construction worker.

One of White’s major campaign promises is to provide vocational education. After he graduated high school, Dane was unable to go to college but through learning trade skills, he was still able to be very successful. If re-elected, he wants to continue providing vocational courses that provide valuable skills to students.

Another key issue for White is fiscal responsibility. Due to declining enrollment and massive pension costs, the Escondido Union High School District needs responsible financial management more than ever. White will ensure that Escondido students continue to receive a quality education, while not overburdening taxpayers.

Dane has received endorsements from numerous other officials and organizations in the community. Among those who support him are former EUHSD President Bill Durney, EUHSD Vice President Tina Pope, Escondido City Councilman Mike Morasco, former San Diego City Councilman Carl Demaio, the Escondido Secondary Teachers Association, and many others.

White will ensure that EUHSD students receive a quality education that includes learning important skills, while maintaining fiscal accountability so that taxpayer money is used as effectively as possible.
