State Senator Brian Jones Joining “Back the Badge” Rally on Saturday to Support Local Law Enforcement

On Saturday, State Senator and Republican Caucus Chairman Brian Jones will ride his motorcycle with other motorcyclists in a rally beginning at the El Cajon Harley Davidson—located at 621 El Cajon, Blvd. El Cajon, CA 92020—in support of San Diego law enforcement.

Motorcyclists and automobiles are welcome and encouraged to come, with participants planning to meet at 8:45 a.m. The driving portion of the rally will begin promptly at 9 a.m. and last until about 10:15 a.m.

The ride will pass various East County law enforcement agencies and San Diego Police Department Headquarters in downtown San Diego, before returning to East County and concluding at La Mesa Police Department.

“I have a long history of standing up for the ‘blue line’ of men and women who wear a badge and put their lives on the line for us,” said Senator Jones. “Our law enforcement community is pummeled in the mainstream media every day. On Saturday I will ride my motorcycle to show my unyielding support for them.”

East County residents Mike Harris and Roberta Pyle-Daniel were inspired to organize the ride to show support for police officers and all law enforcement under the banner of “Back the Badge.” Both are Harley Riders and enthusiastic supporters of law enforcement, with Harris also being a retired United State Marine Corp veteran.

Back the Badge is a grassroots movement by citizens who want to demonstrate their appreciation and respect for local law enforcement departments in cities all across the country.
