Last week, State Senator Brian Jones was appointed by the Senate Rules Committee to the California Commission on Disability Access (CCDA).
I am proud to announce that I was appointed to the California Commission on Disability Access. Our neighbors, friends & family members with disabilities have a right to access private and public facilities. I look forward to helping provide that access. https://t.co/vJUI6HASPO

The CCDA will work with a variety of groups, including disability rights advocates, the business community, non-profits, government agencies, landscape architects, engineers, contractors, and building inspectors to ensure that those with disabilities find California’s businesses and public facilities fully accessible. Rather than resorting to citations or litigation, their goal is to achieve this through education, inspections, and compliance.
“Our neighbors, friends and family members with disabilities have a right to access private and public facilities,” said Senator Jones. “I look forward to helping provide that access by working in a productive, collaborative manner with all the parties involved. It’s good for our community and it’s the right thing to do.”
Jones’ appointment to the commission is merited and well-deserved. He’ll work to ensure that tax dollars are spent to effectively help those in need, while keeping California accessible and safe for everyone.
