Carlsbad City Council Candidate Phil Urbina Enjoying Early Fundraising Success

Carlsbad City Council Candidate Phil Urbina officially announced his 2020 election fundraising totals, thanks to the help of his friends, family, and supporters across the city. His campaign has raised over $43,000 in funds to help Urbina represent South Carlsbad on the City Council.

“I am honored to campaign for the chance to serve the constituents of the great city of Carlsbad. As a dedicated community leader, I am looking forward to continuing the great work done by previous city councils,” said Urbina. “We live in one of the most desirable cities in America. That doesn’t happen by accident. It takes forward planning, experienced leadership, and fiscal restraint.”

Urbina is a longtime Carlsbad resident, community leader, and businessman. He has served as chairman of the board of the Carlsbad Chamber of Commerce and as editor of the Carlsbad Journal. Urbina has also volunteered with the Boys & Girls Club of Carlsbad, La Costa Youth Organization, and Carlsbad Christmas Bureau. He’s an active member of the Carlsbad Hi-Noon Rotary Club and St. Elizabeth Seton Catholic Church. In 2015, Urbina was named Carlsbad’s Citizen of the Year.

By serving on the City Council, he hopes to continue helping his community and representing his constituents in a new role that he’s more than prepared to succeed in.
