In mid-June, the San Diego County Treasurer-Tax Collector downtown office reopened, but this reopening was short-lived. Given the recent increases in COVID-19 cases and the response at the state and county level, the office has decided to close its doors to the public again, beginning this week.
“Our downtown branch will remain open July 1 and 2, but starting Monday, we will close our public-facing counters as a precautionary measure, based on social distancing recommendations from local officials,” said Treasurer-Tax Collector McAllister last week.
The other four Treasurer-Tax Collector offices, located in in Kearny Mesa, San Marcos, Chula Vista and Santee, have been closed to the public since March and will continue to be for the foreseeable future.
For those who need tax related services while the branches are closed, the following resources are still available:
- Email taxman@sdcounty.ca.gov or call 1-877-829-4732 to get questions answered
- Email a request for a mobile home tax clearance certificate
- Email a claim for an unclaimed property tax refund
- Mail in a TOT reporting form and payment
Drop boxes will be available outside of all TTC branches. Checks will be accepted in drop boxes, while cash will not.
