State Assembly candidate Melanie Burkholder has been vigilant about helping her community during the COVID-19 pandemic. Recently, she helped a local business connect with veterans in need to distribute food.
Last week, ProRich Nutrition and Burkholder passed out high-protein powder and ice cream to thousands of veterans and active duty service members at the Veterans Association of North County. The touchless drive thru service was made extra safe with face masks and gloves.
Next month, Burkholder’s volunteers, Mel’s Belles and 76ers, will be joining her to help out. They’ll be there on June 12 from 1 PM-4 PM, and are looking for more volunteers to help this great cause. Those interested can email Burkholder’s team at info@melanieforassembly.com to learn more and sign up.
Apart from this amazing veterans outreach, Burkholder also organizes weekly virtual town halls and “Cooking with the Candidate” sessions to meet with San Diegans and discuss issues that matter to them.
This week’s “Cooking with the Candidate” session was hosted on Tuesday at 3 PM, while her weekly town hall is every Thursday at 3 PM.
