Republican Lawmakers Request Immediate Audit of $1 Billion Contract with BYD for PPE

Seek to provide taxpayers transparency

Sacramento – Several Republican lawmakers submitted a request to pro Tem Toni Atkins (D-San Diego) and Speaker Anthony Rendon (D-Lakewood) to immediately convene the Joint Legislative Audit Committee (JLAC) for the purpose of hearing our audit request of the state’s handling of all 2020 spending on PPE, including the procurement contract with BYD.

“We request that you immediately convene the Joint Legislative Audit Committee (JLAC) for the purpose of hearing our audit request of the state’s handling of all 2020 spending on PPE, including the procurement contract with BYD. Our goal is not to hinder the necessary response to the COVID-19 pandemic but to provide the people of this state – taxpayers all – with the knowledge that we are taking care of their money when they are facing such economic uncertainty.”
