Republican candidates across San Diego have been staying engaged with their communities throughout the COVID-19 quarantine. Among them is 51st congressional district candidate Juan Hidalgo, who has been a composed leader and a guiding light for his community since the start of this crisis.
Hidalgo has partnered with several nonprofits and churches throughout the district, including Spread the Love Charity, the Vision Church in San Diego, and South Bay Pentecostal Church. He’s worked to give food to those in need, deliver meals to the elderly, and help individuals in the district, and will continue to do so as long as help is needed.
He’s also looking for new ways to connect with fellow Republicans. Whether it be through attending meetings, making personal phone calls, or participating in interviews, Hidalgo has remained an active member of his party despite social distancing. Yesterday, he participated in the San Diego Young Republicans’ congressional candidate forum, exemplifying the importance of starting a conversation with young voters moving into the 2020 cycle.
“Yes, we must be concerned, but we are Americans we will not live in fear! We will get through this TOGETHER.” Hildalgo said. “There is an old saying that goes ‘Nobody cares how much you know, until they know how much you care.’ We must work to show Americans that we care.”
