Joe Leventhal Helping Gather Supplies for Emergency Daycare Center

A little bit of kindness goes a long way.

Though COVID-19 has wreaked havoc on our homes and communities, it has brought forth many everyday heroes—people doing the right thing, helping others, and demonstrating the sense of community that makes San Diego the amazing place that it is.

Recently, San Diego City Council candidate Joe Leventhal helped collect over 2,000 water bottles for the San Diego Police Department’s emergency daycare center. The daycare center is absolutely essential for parents that are working long hours to support our city during the pandemic, such as doctors, nurses, firefighters, and law enforcement officers.

Daycare is just one step towards showing community support for these workers, but it’s a great one that we can all take together. Leventhal and the SDPD are leading the fight for the protection of our workers here at home, and we should be exceedingly appreciative of their efforts.

Leventhal and the SDPD still need help—they’re looking for additional water, and (more importantly!) clorox wipes. If you’re able to donate supplies to the daycare, contact Joe with the contact form on https://joeforsandiego.com/.
