San Diego’s small business fund has officially been launched! The much-needed relief fund has been in the works for weeks since the genesis of the COVID-19 crisis, offering small businesses financial assistance in light of quarantine closures.
On Friday, Mayor Kevin Faulconer tweeted out information regarding the fund. He anticipates the loans and grants of up to $20,000 in aid to help small businesses retain workers and sustain remote or reduced operations. For small businesses fighting to stay afloat, this support is absolutely crucial.

Small businesses with 100 or fewer employees can apply for relief at sandiego.gov/sbrf. They should be prepared to provide proof of COVID-19 hardships and a city business liscence.
As a city, it’s important to work together during this crisis in order to support our fellow citizens. Faulconer and the City Council have shown outstanding cooperation and set a great example of unity and compassion for the rest of San Diego. Though the coronavirus outbreak has been tough on everyone, these displays of and leadership are giving us all hope that things are looking up for the future.
