Brian Maienschein is Running Scared

Maienschein launched his first TV spot of the cycle – an indication of vulnerability from the newly-minted Democrat’s re-election campaign

(San Diego, CA) – Assemblyman Brian Maienschein (AD77) launched his first campaign TV ad of the cycle this weekend, an indication of vulnerability from the newly-minted Democrat incumbent.

“Since Brian became a Democrat a year ago, he’s spent his time in Sacramento currying favor with lobbyists and his new Democrat pals instead of working to make life better for the people that elected him. Since he doesn’t have a strong record of results to run on, he’s chosen to go after June instead,” said Duane Dichiara, Cutter’s campaign consultant.

The poorly produced spot criticized June Cutter for her opposition to Maienschein’s now infamous decision to switch parties to become a Democrat after spending over 20 years in elected office as a Republican.

Even the Chairman of the San Diego County Republican Party, Tony Krvaric, tweeted his thoughts on the ad Sunday night: “What genius came up with this @BMaienschein ad? It tells Republican voters in #AD77 that @junecutter is one of them – and an attorney to boot. It further tells them Brian abandoned them. Other than the picture this could have been a June Cutter ad. Thanks for the messaging Brian!”

“Voters on both the left and the right are tired of watching career politicians like Brian Maienschien get away with putting the whims of special interests above the needs of their community. With me, you always know where I stand,” said June Cutter, Republican AD77 candidate challenging Maienschein.

The 77th District encompasses northern San Diego and portions of North County, including the city of Poway. It also contains the Marine Corps Air Station Miramar. The District’s voter registration is nearly evenly split between Republicans, Democrats, and Independents.

June Cutter is an accomplished attorney, small business owner, proud wife to a former Naval Flight Officer, and a mom to two children. June is running for Assembly to stand up to Sacramento special interests and to improve the lives of California’s hardworking middle class.
