Patrick Batten Endorses Joe Leventhal for San Diego City Council

Marine and one time primary opponent, Patrick Batten, endorses Joe Leventhal to succeed Mark Kersey on the San Diego City Council.

(San Diego, CA) – Patrick Batten, Marine Corps reservist and former candidate for District 5, today endorsed Joe Leventhal for City Council.

“Joe and I share the same priority of making a positive impact on the lives of everyday San Diegans. I trust that Joe will advocate for better streets, support law enforcement officers, and work to tackle problems contributing to homelessness in our City. Joe has also committed to advocating for our military and veteran community in San Diego. Joe has my full endorsement for City Council,” said Patrick Batten.

Joe has already been endorsed by San Diego Mayor Kevin Faulconer, San Diego City Councilman Mark Kersey, retired San Diego Police Chief Shelley Zimmerman, homeless advocate Father Joe Carroll, San Diego County Board of Education Vice President Mark Powell, San Diego County Supervisor Jim Desmond, San Diego County Supervisor Dianne Jacob, San Diego City Councilman Scott Sherman, the San Diego Regional Chamber of Commerce, and the Associated Builders and Contractors of San Diego, among others.

“I am proud to accept an endorsement from Patrick Batten,” said Leventhal. “I was privileged to get to know Patrick on the campaign trail and know that he has committed his life to the service of others. I am honored to have his support.”

Once elected to the San Diego City Council, Joe will prioritize solutions to reduce homelessness, enhance public safety, and expand road repairs. Joe believes that bold, collaborative leadership, as he’s demonstrated throughout his life, is the best way to approach San Diego’s persistent challenges.
