Jim DeBello Files For Congress

Entrepreneur Plans to Unseat Democrat Opponent

SAN DIEGO, CA, December 6, 2019. Today, the former Chairman and CEO of MITEK Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ: MITK) announced that he has filed with the County Registrar of Voters as a candidate in the March 3, 2020, primary election for Congress to represent California’s 52nd District.

Jim DeBello is officially endorsed by the Republican Party. DeBello said, “Our District needs energetic and focused leadership and I’m running for Congress because it has lost touch with our needs.”

DeBello is a lifelong San Diegan and resident of Point Loma. He is a technology innovator awarded five patents and is best known as the co‐inventor of mobile check deposit used by 80 million Americans. He has been married 33 years and is a father. He has grown small businesses, created jobs for hundreds of San Diegans, and raised over $100 million for companies in the 52nd District.

“I’m an advocate for equal opportunity and digital inclusion. Early in my career, I helped implement social welfare policies for the County of San Diego and joined USDA’s Food and Nutrition Service to fight national food insecurity.“

DeBello added, “I’m a passionate American, and believe we need innovative, immediate action to solve our problems, including immigration, homelessness and border sewage destroying our beaches. These critical issues are not being addressed by my Democrat opponent focused on impeachment while our country suffers from division. It is time for a change after eight years of inaction by him.”
