On October 11, Governor Newsom signed the Del Mar Gun Show Ban (AB 893), following the party line of Democrats who seek to take away the rights of Californians. Newsom, along with three San Diego-based legislators decided they should have complete authority over our constitutional rights.
Democratic Assemblymembers Todd Gloria, Tasha Boerner-Horvath, and Lorena Gonzalez are the local leaders who helped push the bill onto Newsom’s desk—with AB 893 taking into effect in 2021.
The bill has faced strong opposition from gun rights groups such as the California Rifle and Pistol Association (CRPA), as well as the San Diego County Gun Owners political action committee.
In June, a federal judge issued a preliminary injunction on the matter, ruling that California must allow gun shows to continue at the fairgrounds while the court rules on the legality of the suspension. The CRPA and B&L Productions have also suggested that they will file a separate suit against the state regarding the validity of effectively banning gun shows on state property.
Our Democratic dictators believe they have supremacy over the Constitution and the courts in passing such an egregious bill. Their interests are power and control, rather than freedom and security for all Americans. California Democrats have repeatedly shown that they prefer tyranny over liberty, further indicating that we have no choice but to vote them out of office.
