A delegation from the San Diego Regional Chamber of Commerce recently traveled to Washington D.C. to discuss key issues with federal officials. Orchestrated by Mayor Kevin Faulconer, the delegation consisted of other notable officials including Tijuana Mayor Juan Gastem, city councilmen from all over San Diego County, and representatives from local businesses, colleges, and institutions.
Issues on the docket include pollution along the Tijuana River, homelessness, veteran support, and the US-Mexico-Canada trade agreement. Sen. Dianne Feinstein, federal cabinet officials, and members of San Diego’s congressional delegation also participated in the discussion.
Such an event demonstrates Faulconer’s understanding and commitment to issues that matter to individuals in the Cali-Baja region, as well as his hopes for bipartisan compromise in the interests of the people. San Diego should be very proud of Mayor Faulconer’s leadership and willingness to take initiative for the betterment of San Diego.
