Father Joe Carroll Announces Endorsement of Joe Leventhal for San Diego City Council

A leader in the fight against homelessness, Father Joe Carroll says Leventhal will ‘make a difference’ on the city council.

(San Diego, CA) – Prominent San Diego community leader and homeless advocate, Father Joe Carroll, today announced his endorsement of Joe Leventhal for City Council. This endorsement is the first of this election cycle for Father Joe, who seldom extends endorsements in political races.

“I’ve dedicated my life to helping our city’s homeless population, and I trust Joe to be an advocate for our neighbors in need on the City Council. Joe is seeking new ideas to help our city’s most vulnerable, and I support his approach to helping our homeless,” said Father Joe Carroll.

“I’m honored to have the endorsement and support of a San Diego hero like Father Joe Carroll. Father Joe has been a tireless champion for homeless and impoverished San Diegans. I hope to continue his work as a true public servant to make an impact on the City Council,” said Joe Leventhal.

Joe has already been endorsed by San Diego County Supervisor Jim Desmond, San Diego County Board of Education Chair Mark Powell, retired San Diego Police Chief Shelley Zimmerman, and the Associated Builders and Contractors of San Diego, among others.

Once elected to the San Diego City Council, Joe will prioritize solutions to reduce homelessness, enhance public safety, and expand road repairs. Joe believes that bold, collaborative leadership, as he’s demonstrated throughout his life, is the best way to approach San Diego’s persistent challenges.
