Joe Biden is vacationing for the week, along with Hunter, at the Lake Tahoe home of billionaire Tom Steyer. Steyer is the single largest Democrat political donor in U.S. history.<\/p>\n

In April 2020, shortly after his presidential campaign fizzled, Steyer was tapped by Newsom to head California\u2019s COVID \u201cEconomic Recovery\u201d Commission. We all know how that went. (Read my account of the infamous Steyer Commission\u00a0here<\/span><\/a>).<\/p>\n

But while he\u2019s in the area, I\u2019m inviting Biden to drive to the California side of the lake and down to the scene of the Caldor Fire \u2013 specifically, the town of Grizzly Flats where 785 of my constituents tragically lost their homes.<\/p>\n

Shortly after the fire, Biden pledged to help the victims. \u201cWe\u2019re going to take care of them,\u201d he said. He broke that promise, repeatedly denying aid. Earlier this year, I confronted Biden about this at the White House. He replied, \u201coh no,\u201d and said he wanted to fix it. That hasn\u2019t happened.<\/p>\n

Now, even Newsom\u2019s OES Director, Nancy Ward, has joined me in calling out Biden. Armed with Ward\u2019s supportive letter to me, I\u2019ve sent a scathing new letter to Biden. You can read it\u00a0here<\/span><\/a>.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, I am formally\u00a0requesting an oversight hearing<\/span><\/a>\u00a0on the Chinese bio lab operating secretly in California, which was kept from the public for nine months after its discovery. I\u2019ve also sent a series of\u00a0pointed questions<\/span><\/a>\u00a0about the lab to HHS Secretary Xavier Becerra.<\/p>\n

Speaking of Becerra:\u00a0my questioning of him<\/span><\/a>\u00a0in committee has emerged as a barrier to new mask mandates. With some private institutions starting to reinstitute them, Becerra\u2019s on-the-record inability to cite any health benefit may help us stop further government-imposed insanity.<\/p>\n
