California is once again the national leader \u2026 in pain at the pump.<\/p>\n

This week,\u00a0AAA reported<\/a>\u00a0the state\u2019s average gas price has\u00a0soared to over $5 a gallon and is once again the highest in the nation.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The soaring prices come as Governor Gavin Newsom just announced his\u00a0new \u201coil watchdog\u201d<\/a> to go get the boogeymen of \u201cBig Oil.\u201d<\/p>\n

The question is worth asking:<\/strong>\u00a0If oil companies were truly ripping off Californians for the heck of it, shouldn\u2019t prices be falling by now?<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re seeing definitive proof that Newsom\u2019s sham investigations are nothing but a sad attempt to deflect blame for high gas prices<\/em>,\u201d said Assembly Republican Leader James Gallagher<\/strong> (Yuba City). \u201cEventually he\u2019s going to run out of excuses and Californians will realize that their pain at the pump is a direct result of Newsom\u2019s incompetence and radical anti-energy policies<\/em>.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
