I wanted to be on the House Judiciary Committee for a simple reason: I sensed it would be the center of the action in this Congress. Alongside Chair Jim Jordan, it\u2019s where we could do everything possible to hold the Biden Administration accountable.<\/p>\n

So far, that\u2019s turned out to be true \u2013 and it\u2019s about to become truer. With new revelations about possible DOJ interference in the Hunter Biden case, yesterday Speaker McCarthy made an announcement:<\/p>\n

\u201cWe need to get to the facts, and that includes reconciling these clear disparities. U.S. Attorney David Weiss must provide answers to the House Judiciary Committee. If the whistleblowers\u2019 allegations are true, this will be a significant part of a larger\u00a0impeachment inquiry into Merrick Garland\u2019s weaponization of DOJ<\/u><\/em>.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Meanwhile, NBC News reports that \u201cVice President Kamala Harris\u2019 net-negative rating (-17) is the lowest for any vice president in the poll\u2019s history.\u201d This is what happens when California politics goes national.<\/p>\n

Stopping the nationalization of California\u2019s failures has been our goal in the Julie Su fight. We are on the cusp of victory: the Hill\u2019s headline reads, \u201cWhite House reaches dead end on Labor nominee fight,\u201d and the New York Sun reports the nomination \u201cappears headed for defeat.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Su battle has been a high-stakes moment for Newsom, a test of his \u201cmodel for the nation\u201d slogan. And we are exposing it as a fantasy: even far-left California Congressman Ro Khanna just admitted, \u201cI think the message that says \u2018Make America California\u2019 is not a winning message.\u201d<\/p>\n

Finally, on Meet the Press last week, I\u00a0blasted Newsom<\/span><\/a>\u00a0for his \u201cReparations Task Force\u201d that is recommending $1.2 million cash payments. The Governor thought he could breathe a sigh of relief when we left Sacramento for D.C. He could not have been more wrong.<\/p>\n
