THE GOOD:<\/strong><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

\"\ud83d\ude94\"\u00a0Republicans and law enforcement groups defeated two radical anti-cop bills \u2013 one to\u00a0ban police dogs<\/a>\u00a0and another to\u00a0make it harder to search suspects<\/a>.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

\"\ud83d\udc8a\"\u00a0Bills to fight the fentanyl epidemic by\u00a0improving mental health and expanding treatment for Californians struggling with addiction<\/a>\u00a0passed unanimously (but Republicans are not done fighting to hold fentanyl traffickers accountable).<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

\"\ud83d\udc18\"\u00a0Republican-authored bills to\u00a0reduce wildfire risk<\/a>,\u00a0improve law enforcement training<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0recover illegally-owned guns<\/a>\u00a0sailed through the Assembly with bipartisan support.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

THE BAD:<\/strong><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

\"\ud83d\udcda\"\u00a0Democrats keep trying to take away local control from education, this time advancing a bill to direct the California Department of Education to\u00a0issue top-down guidance on how schools discuss sensitive issues<\/a>.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

\"\ud83d\ude9c\"\u00a0After struggling through years of drought and expensive new mandates from the state, the farmers who feed California got hit again this week with Democratic bills to\u00a0increase costs<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0erode water rights<\/a>\u00a0advancing through the Assembly.<\/p>\n

\"\ud83e\uddfe\"\u00a0Despite all the problems facing California, Democrats tackled the less-than-critical issue of\u00a0banning businesses from automatically printing receipts<\/a>. #priorities<\/p>\n

THE UGLY:<\/strong><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

\"\ud83c\udfdb\ufe0f\"\u00a0Democrats\u00a0hate that voters have the power to overturn their radical left-wing policies<\/a>, so they pushed through an attack on California\u2019s system of direct democracy by making it harder to get a referendum on the ballot. Wonder if Newsom will speak up against this authoritarian move\u2026<\/p>\n

\"\u2696\ufe0f\"\u00a0Just ahead of National Gun Violence Prevention Day, Democrats blocked an effort to\u00a0increase the penalty for using a firearm to commit a violent crime<\/a>, proving they aren\u2019t serious about protecting Californians from gun crime.<\/p>\n
