SAN DIEGO, CA, February 27, 2023<\/strong>\u00a0– San Diego County Treasurer-Tax Collector Dan McAllister announced bidder registration for the 2023 online property auction closes this Thursday, March . A total of 404 properties are currently for sale.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe properties for sale have been in tax default for five or more years, in accordance with the California Revenue & Taxation Code, it\u2019s time to get the properties back on the tax roll generating revenue for public services,\u201d said McAllister. \u201cOur online system makes it simple to\u00a0research\u00a0and bid on a variety of properties across San Diego County.\u201d<\/p>\n

Anyone around the world can bid during the online property tax auction from March 10-15. To participate, bidders must register before March 2 at the Treasurer-Tax Collector\u2019s tax auction website,\u00a0sdttc.mytaxsale.com<\/a>. They must also submit a refundable $1,000 deposit and a non-refundable $35 processing fee (some parcels may require a larger deposit).<\/p>\n

\u201cWe have over 40 residential or commercial properties, 293 timeshares, and 70+ parcels of land for sale. The County stands to bring in $4,054,258 in tax revenue if all the properties are sold for the minimum bid,\u201d McAllister continued. \u201cPotential bidders who want to receive email reminders about deadlines are encouraged to sign up for e-notifications at\u00a0sdttc.com<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n

All sales are final, so this is a\u00a0buyer beware<\/strong>\u00a0sale. The TTC recommends beginning the research process\u00a0on its website<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Owners of the auctioned properties can still avoid going to sale; they have until 5 p.m. on March 9 to redeem their parcels and pay all taxes and fees owed. Before the sale, every effort is made to contact the owners of these properties to notify them about the impending sale.<\/p>\n
