SACRAMENTO, Calif., February 6, 2023\u00a0<\/strong>\u2013\u00a0Assemblyman Bill Essayli<\/strong>\u00a0will hold a press conference to announce legislation aimed at protecting pets from euthanasia, helping ensure every adoptable pet has the chance to find a home.<\/p>\n

\nAssemblyman Bill Essayli<\/strong>
\nShoshi Gamliel<\/strong>, Owner of\u00a0Underdog Heroes Rescue<\/a>, the rescue that\u00a0tried rescue Bowie last year before he was tragically, suddenly euthanized<\/a><\/p>\n

WHY:<\/u><\/strong>
\nLast year,\u00a0a puppy named Bowie was suddenly euthanized<\/a>\u00a0at a Los Angeles County animal shelter, even after he was selected for adoption by a rescue. Every adoptable pet deserves an opportunity to find a loving home before they are euthanatized at a shelter. Asm. Essayli will be announcing new legislation to prevent what happened to Bowie from happening again.<\/p>\n

VISUALS:<\/u><\/strong>
\nThe press conference will be held in front of an animal shelter where there will be volunteers handling adoptable dogs as a backdrop. Asm. Essayli will be interacting with the animals before and after the presser. Asm. Essayli’s rescue dog, Zoe, will also be at the presser.<\/p>\n
