In 2022 over 340,000 people fled the state of California \u2013 continuing an alarming trend of net-migration from the once thriving state.\u00a0Reform California\u2019s Carl DeMaio says high taxes, costly government mandates, surging crime, failing schools, and increasing homelessness are forcing Californians to flee.<\/h4>\n

The mass exodus from California continues! According to data recently released by the U.S. Census Bureau more than 340,000 people left the state of California in 2022.<\/p>\n

The population loss is happening even though California is a Sanctuary State and is openly encouraging illegal immigrants to enter in record numbers. The data shows despite the flood of illegal immigrants into the state last year, citizens of California are still fleeing in greater numbers \u2013 resulting in \u201cnet migration.\u201d<\/p>\n

Carl DeMaio, Chairman of Reform California, blames a wide-range of bad policies imposed by the state\u2019s Democrat Super-Majority.<\/p>\n

\u201cIn just the past three years, the data shows millions of citizens have fled California because of high taxes, costly government mandates, surging crime, failing schools, and filthy streets filled with homeless camps,\u201d DeMaio says.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe only thing that masks the record-breaking departures from California is the fact that state politicians are trying to get as many illegal immigrants into the state to replace every citizen that is fleeing \u2013 but even with California being a Sanctuary State we still see net migration because living conditions in the state really have really become that bad,\u201d DeMaio notes.<\/p>\n

While millions have fled California, DeMaio choses to stand and fight.<\/p>\n

\u201cI refuse to flee \u2013 I choose to stand and fight,\u201d DeMaio says.<\/p>\n

DeMaio\u2019s Reform California organization has quickly become the fastest growing grassroots organization in the state because of their focus on blocking tax hikes and electing common-sense reformers to office at the state and local levels of government.<\/p>\n

\u201cImagine what we could do if every one who fled California in the last five years would just stay and fight \u2013 I don\u2019t blame them for fleeing, but we sure could use the help in the fight here because if we don\u2019t fix California the craziness will simply spread to other states in the nation,\u201d DeMaio notes.<\/p>\n
