Reform California analysis says early vote data suggests a \u201cRed Wave\u201d may be forming \u2014 but California conservatives still face headwinds in the deep blue state<\/h3>\n

Over the Summer, many California Republicans began to fear that the anticipated national \u201cRed Wave\u201d predicted for Republicans in this November\u2019s midterm elections may turn into no more than a trickle in California.<\/p>\n

Now that the California Secretary of State has released the first early ballot return data for the November 8th General Election, Reform California says so far it\u2019s good news for Republicans.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhile we don\u2019t know how these voters voted, we do know\u00a0who<\/em>\u00a0is voting \u2014 and who is voting this early is pretty telling,\u201d said Carl DeMaio, Chairman of Reform California.<\/p>\n

\u201cAccording to the tally of early votes returned so far, the Republican and conservative independent share of early voters in California has spiked \u2013 and Democrat turnout is significantly depressed,\u201d he continued.<\/p>\n

In its analysis, Reform California compared the first week of ballot returns in the 2021 Recall Election, the 2022 Primary Election and the current 2022 General Election in California.\u00a0Here\u2019s the different share of early votes for each political party in each of those elections:<\/p>\n

Democrat Share of Early Ballot Returns<\/strong><\/u><\/p>\n

Nov 2022: 48% (DOWN 10%<\/strong>\u00a0from 2021 Recall)<\/p>\n

June 2022: 52%<\/p>\n

Recall 2021:58%<\/p>\n

Republican Share of Early Ballot Returns<\/strong><\/u><\/p>\n

Nov 2022: 28% (UP 7%<\/strong>\u00a0from 2021 Recall)<\/p>\n

June 2022: 24%<\/p>\n

Recall 2021:21%<\/p>\n

Independent Share of Early Ballot Returns<\/strong><\/u><\/p>\n

Nov 2022: 24% (UP 1%<\/strong>\u00a0from 2021 Recall)<\/p>\n

June 2022: 24%<\/p>\n

Recall 2021:23%<\/p>\n

TOTAL: 427,816 (4% of Registered Voters)<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cThe data is showing a stunning 17-point swing in favor of Republicans since the 2021 Recall Election,\u201d explained DeMaio.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat’s even better, the analysis of our\u00a024 target races<\/u><\/a>\u00a0shows our turnout is even higher in those areas,\u201d DeMaio enthused.<\/p>\n

But DeMaio warns that a Republican landslide is not a foregone conclusion.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is still California \u2014 and I\u2019m not saying we will sweep every seat on the ballot \u2014 but we do have a chance at some massive gains,\u201d said DeMaio. \u201cBut that won\u2019t happen if we don\u2019t continue to work hard and push conservative and independent voters to vote throughout the final weeks of the election,\u201d he continued.<\/p>\n

DeMaio and Reform California have prepared their annual voter guide at\u00a0ElectionGuideCalifornia.org<\/u><\/a>\u00a0to help explain to voters what\u2019s on their ballot in \u201cPlain English\u201d and boost turnout for key candidates.<\/p>\n

In addition to using and sharing the voter guide to help elect these reform-minded candidates, DeMaio is urging the public to join the campaign today to help get the voter guide in the hands of key target voters.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe still have an uphill battle in California to win our target seats and defeat the tax hikes on the ballot, but we can do it if you help us get this guide out before it\u2019s too late!\u201d concluded DeMaio.<\/p>\n
