Ammar Campa-Najjar Violates Gift Limits and Reporting Requirements Evidence Continues to Mount That Mayoral Candidate Does Not Follow Election Laws<\/h3>\n

Chula Vista, California, September 30, 2022 \u2013 The California DMV records, discovered by Private Investigator and former FBI agent, Lawrence Hamilton, into Ammar Campa-Najjar\u2019s false residence, provided documentation that Campa-Najjar drives a Model 3 Tesla that is leased by his girlfriend, Congresswoman Sara Jacobs (See attached). Campaign law requires candidates like Campa-Najjar to report this as a gift, which he failed to do. Additionally, the amount of this car would be above the allowable limits (car lease is a minimum of $529.00 per month). However, the lease could potentially be paid for with Congressional funds, which allows members of Congress to be reimbursed for leased vehicles up to $1,000 per month.<\/p>\n

Documentation provided from the California DMV records validate the ownership of the vehicle. Videos and photographs document that Campa-Najjar drives this vehicle daily and to all campaign events. Plus, the DMV records provide proof that Campa-Najjar has been driving this vehicle at least since April 29, 2022 because he received a ticket for running a stop sign in downtown San Diego. The ticket also appears to document that he was driving without a drivers\u2019 license. The Federal law states that the vehicle must only be driven by the Congress member themselves or a staff member. The car must also not be driven to election-related events, which Campa-Najjar is documented doing. Is Campa-Najjar driving a taxpayer funded vehicle illegally to campaign for Chula Vista Mayor?<\/p>\n

Hamilton has proven that Campa-Najjar does not live in Chula Vista. He discovered that Campa- Najjar had been living with his girlfriend, Jacobs, outside of the city residency, never once attempting to stay in Chula Vista. Hamilton, has obtained more than 70 videos and photos that show Campa-Najjar living at a condo in Downtown San Diego. Hamilton has signed an affidavit under penalty of perjury that states he conducted an investigation of Campa-Najjar (see attached). Hamilton provided these videos and pictures to the San Diego District Attorney\u2019s office.<\/p>\n

Campa-Najjar has a pattern of misleading voters for his own personal gain by using his family\u2019s addresses to run in different districts. For example, he used his mother\u2019s Jamul address for 2018\u2019s East County’s 50th Congressional District, his aunt\u2019s Bonita address for 2020\u2019s California State Assembly race, and now Joe\u2019s condo Chula Vista address for 2022\u2019s Chula Vista Mayoral race. How far will Ammar go?<\/p>\n
