This location is located in Mendocino, a small coastal village in Northern California. The owner of the gas station, Judy Schlafer, has said that she would have been out of business if not for charging $9.60 for a gallon. \u201c<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If it continues the way it is, Mendocino won\u2019t have a gas station next year,\u201d said Schlafer.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">She explained that her last load of gas bought was roughly 8,880 gallons. The gas had to be paid off within a span of 10 days, and there was no way she wouldn&#8217;t have gotten it paid off if not for raising the price. In total, the 8,880 gallons cost $50,000. In the span of 3 months she had said that the price has risen from the normal $20,000 that she usually pays. \u201cI\u2019m going to be lucky if I make the year with all the fees, the regulation, the payroll fees,\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">That gas station is the only one in the area that has picked up massive amounts of popularity with tourists and citizens alike. It has been labeled as the highest gas cost in the United States, and the cost for gas still goes up at that station.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Schlafer keeps denying the fact that people have titled her station \u2018the most expensive gas in the Country\u2019, and says that gas is that expensive in other places around the Country. People across the states have checked in for places with SFGATE and couldn&#8217;t find any stations that had gas listed that high.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/GasBuddyGuy\/status\/1532017282511253507?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1532017282511253507%7Ctwgr%5E%7Ctwcon%5Es1_&amp;ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.sfgate.com%2Fbayarea%2Farticle%2FCalifornia-gas-nears-10-dollars-17218407.php\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Patrick De Haan, the head of the petroleum at GasBuddy tweeted<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: \u201c$9.45\/gal!!
