As liberal extremists like Gonzalez pressure businesses harder and harder to abide by their strict policies. Instacart commented that the \u201cproject may occur in another state.\u201d The company\u2019s secondary headquarters in Atlanta is a strong candidate for expansion given our state\u2019s current policies.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The company told<a href=\"https:\/\/calmatters.org\/newsletters\/whatmatters\/2022\/04\/california-labor-instacart-lyft\/\"> CalMatters,<\/a> \u201cInstacart is proud to call California home and to have created thousands of jobs and contributed millions in tax revenue to the state over the past decade. At this time, we have decided not to further pursue a grant through the Cal Competes Tax Credit Program. We appreciate the opportunity to work with state leaders and look forward to continued discussions about how we can build on Instacart\u2019s long legacy of growth, job creation, and community impact across the state.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The labor unions took great offense to this, specifically Gonzalez\u2013one of the original state Assembly Members who pushed for stricter state labor laws.
