Former President Donald Trump- while speaking at a rally in Florence, Arizona- said that DirecTV is dropping San Diego-based OAN due to its politics and urged his supporters against using its parent AT&T\u2019s services, <\/span>\u201cMaybe what we should do is not use AT&T,\u201d he said at the event which OAN founder Robert Herring Sr. and son Charles Herring, the network\u2019s president, attended and whom Trump also called \u201cpatriots\u201d and \u201cgreat, great men.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cAll I can tell you is the people that are telling the truth in America like One America News are being threatened. I love One America News \u2026 (and) I watch it all the time,\u201d Trump said. <\/span>He mentioned that OAN does a fantastic job, but the \u201cwoke executives \u2014 I don\u2019t know what they\u2019re doing; they have so much debt. AT&T is a company that\u2019s in serious trouble.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n DirecTV\u2019s announcement \u2014 which is 70% owned by AT&T- comes three months after a Reuters investigation showed that OAN\u2019s founder testified that AT&T inspired the creation of the network. Additionally, court testimony revealed that nearly all of OAN\u2019s revenue comes from DirecTV. <\/span>DirecTV has nearly 15 million subscribers and is by far OAN\u2019s largest carrier. DirecTV provides 90% of the conservative network\u2019s revenue, according to testimony by OAN\u2019s accountant.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n DirecTV said in a statement, \u201cWe informed Herring Networks that, following a routine internal review, we do not plan to enter into a new contract when our current agreement expires.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n Liberals were cheering after the announcement to drop OAN.\u00a0<\/span>NAACP President Derrick Johnson claimed it was \u201ca victory for us and the future of democracy.\u201d\u00a0<\/span>Johnson added in a statement: \u201cAt a time when we are seeing our rights infringed upon, OAN only seeks to create further division. \u2026 We must continually choose truth over lies and common sense over hysteria.\u201d Conservative pundits came to the defense of OAN.
