California has ranked among the top ten U.S. states with the highest weekly gas price increase, according to a new report. <\/span>The average price currently for regular gas in California is $4.62, according to data collected from the American Automobile Association.<\/span><\/p>\n From Thursday last week to Thursday this week, the state has seen a four-cent increase in gas prices.<\/span><\/p>\n The state is imitating a national trend of increased demand for gas but a slower gas pump price increase, according to a report from the AAA. The current national average for a gallon of regular gas goes for $3.42 as of Friday.<\/span><\/p>\n Several other U.S. states that recorded the highest average increases include Hawaii, Ohio, West Virginia, Indiana, Minnesota, New Mexico, Illinois, Maine, and Arizona.<\/span><\/p>\n The gas prices in California range depending on where you are in the state; the lowest average is in Modoc county at $4.44. The highest average price is in Mono County at $5.45. San Diego County falls just below the state average at $4.55.
