Reportedly, British zoologist Peter Daszak of Eco-Health Alliance and scientists at the Wuhan Institute of Virology (WIV) were planning to release the \u201ccoronaviruses into Chinese bat populations\u201d in order to inoculate them before the pandemic. Also, the scientists were seeking funding from the United States to \u201ccreate chimeric viruses\u201d that are meant to infect people easily.
According to The Telegraph report, the plans from the scientists were revealed through leaked proposals going back from 2018. It has been confirmed as authentic by a former U.S. official.
The report states that the date of the leaked document is from just \u201c18 months before the first Covid-19 cases appeared.\u201d The report continued noting that the \u201cpapers, confirmed as genuine by a former member of the Trump administration, show they were hoping to introduce \u2018human-specific cleavage sites\u2019 to bat coronaviruses which would make it easier for the virus to enter human cells.\u201d
To further add how Daszak comes into play, he sought $14 million for the research from the U.S.\u2019s Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA). The agency refused the funding.
Therefore, the report claims that Daszak\u2019s team was unaware of the severity of the work and never considered the danger of releasing the vaccine as airborne. A member of the U.K\u2019s House of Lords, Viscount Ridley, had other things to say about the zoologist, \u201cnow it turns out he had authorized this vital piece of information about virus work in Wuhan but refused to share it with the world. I am furious. So should the world be.\u201d He continued, \u201cPeter Daszak and the EcoHealth Alliance (EHA) proposed injecting deadly chimeric bat coronaviruses collected by the Wuhan Institute of Virology into humanized and \u2018batified\u2019 mice, and much, much more.\u201d
Lastly, a researcher from the World Health Organization claims that the scientists\u2019 goals were to make a MERS virus, which \u201chave a fatality rate over 30%,\u201d resulting in being more deadly than the virus we know today. \u201cIf one of their receptor replacements made MERS spread similarly while maintaining its lethality, this pandemic would be nearly apocalyptic.\u201d<\/p>\r\n
