Like many other red states, Texas has noticed and decided to pass its voter integrity bill. The Texas bill requires a form of ID to vote, such as a driver\u2019s license number or the last four digits of a social security number. Additionally, it prohibits drive-thru voting, introduces new penalties for corrupt poll watchers, and extends early voting to 17 days. But that didn\u2019t satisfy the whims of the Left.<\/p>\n
To prevent the vote from taking place, the Texas Democrats traveled by private jet to D.C. without wearing masks. When pressed with this, State Assemblyman James Talarico stated that everyone was fully vaccinated. But regular commercial flyers are still required to wear a mask at all times even after receiving both doses of the vaccine, showing the Democrats\u2019 hypocrisy.<\/p>\n
When they arrived, President Biden yet again likened the bill to Jim Crow, but Vice President Harris took her remarks to the next level of insanity. She stated in a press conference that, \u201cIn 1867 Frederick Douglas appealed to the Congress, the United States Congress, for the right of the black man to vote. In 1913, women marched down Pennsylvania Avenue for the right to vote. And in 2021, the Texas Legislature came to Washington D.C.,\u201d followed by thunderous applause.<\/p>\n
These sorry excuses for politicians can flounce around the capital all they like, but eventually, they\u2019ll have to return to their home state. When they get back, Governor Greg Abbott plans to arrest them and call a special session to pass the bill. But the state democrats are using this opportunity to pressure federal lawmakers to pass a federal voting bill, which is blatantly unconstitutional.<\/p>\n
This latest stunt shows that these state representatives aren\u2019t committed to their jobs or constituents since they would instead seek attention from federal lawmakers than pass common-sense voting rights bills. Democrats claim that Republicans continue to push the \u201cBig Lie\u201d that Trump won the election.
