Last month, California approved a bill that created the nation\u2019s first statewide ethnic studies curriculum, consisting of a 900-page document. Its stated goal is to educate California’s public high school students about different cultures, but in reality it is being used for nefarious purposes.<\/span><\/p>\n According to Christopher Rufo, a reporter at City Journal mentioned how the presenters at the Santa Clara workshops \u201cencouraged teachers to inject left-wing politics into the classroom and to hide controversial material from parents.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n Jorge Pacheco, the president of the California Latino School Boards Association told his audience that they should \u201ccash in on kids\u2019 inherent empathy\u201d by turning them into activists at an early age. Pachecho believes that the U.S. is a political regime based on \u201csettler colonialism\u201d in which he accuses white men of being to blame for a \u201csystem of oppression.\u201d <\/span><\/p>\n During the Santa Clara workshop, he presented slides of examples of oppression. This included examples of \u201cwhite people exploiting people of color,\u201d \u201cmen exploiting women,\u201d and \u201crich people exploiting poor people.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Pacheco believes that the solution to this so-called \u201csystem of oppression\u201d is to awaken the younger generation to the oppression and lead them to \u201cdecodify\u201d and \u201cdestroy\u201d the dominant political regime.
