{"id":5456,"date":"2021-03-02T14:30:29","date_gmt":"2021-03-02T21:30:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sandiegonewsdesk.com\/?p=5456"},"modified":"2021-03-02T16:49:45","modified_gmt":"2021-03-02T23:49:45","slug":"ca-to-spend-up-28m-to-provide-for-asylum-seekers","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sandiegonewsdesk.com\/?p=5456","title":{"rendered":"CA to spend up $28M to provide for asylum seekers"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Written by Urvi Sakurikar<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In typical Newsom fashion, struggling Californians are once again being cruelly swept aside in favor of illegal immigrants and non-citizens.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Per an announcement on Thursday, the state of California is to spend around $28 million on food, shelter, medical care, and more for asylum seekers awaiting court dates.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In conjunction with the recent stimulus package that yields <a href=\"https:\/\/sandiegonewsdesk.com\/2021\/02\/newsom-and-state-democrats-announce-stimulus-payments-for-illegal-aliens\/\">hefty benefits for illegal aliens<\/a>, it is apparent that Governor Newsom and California Democrats could not care less about hard-working, tax-paying Californians who have been hit hard by the pandemic.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The announcement came shortly after President Biden\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/sandiegonewsdesk.com\/2021\/02\/biden-administration-to-grant-25k-asylum-seekers-entry-into-us\/\">suspension of the policy<\/a> that required migrants to wait in Mexico for court hearings. Arizona and Texas have already filed suit against the Biden administration over his immigration policy.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Out of all states, California\u2019s financial recovery from the COVID-19 outbreak in March 2020 has been one of the slowest and roughest.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">With countless people losing their income because of the lockdown orders and the already significant homelessness crisis worsening, the last thing California taxpayers need is their government choosing to help non-citizens over them.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In addition, the generosity of California\u2019s budget can be attributed to a large wealth gap, which has only grown since the onset of the pandemic.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Illegal immigrants in California are thriving at the expense of legal citizens who work hard and pay exorbitant taxes.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Californians deserve better than a governor who carelessly throws their hard-earned tax dollars at people with no legal right to government benefits.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">For this reason and many more, everyone who is eligible should sign the petition to recall Governor Newsom and elect someone who will put Californians first.
