It was revealed on Friday that the National Rifle Association will be filing for bankruptcy, and as part of that process, they will be moving to Texas. The news was released in a letter<\/a> from NRA CEO Wayne LaPierre.<\/p>\n “Today, the NRA announced a restructuring plan that positions us for the long-term and ensures our continued success as the nation\u2019s leading advocate for constitutional freedom \u2013 free from the toxic political environment of New York. The plan can be summed up quite simply: We are DUMPING New York, and we are pursuing plans to reincorporate the NRA in Texas.”<\/p>\n That “toxic political environment” that LaPierre references has been on full display in recent months. Back in August, New York Attorney General Letitia James announced she was filing a lawsuit to dissolve the NRA.<\/p>\n \u201cThe NRA is fraught with fraud and abuse, which is why, today, we seek to dissolve the NRA, because no organization is above the law,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n President Trump urged the NRA to leave the state, \u201cThat\u2019s a very terrible thing that just happened.
