Phils BBQ in San Marcos will be closing its doors after 10 years in business.<\/p>\n
Operations at the San Marcos location ceased in March, when what was supposed to be a “2-week” lockdown “to flatten the curve” went into effect. Owner Phil Pace told NBC 7 that he estimated a loss of $10,000 to $15,000 per day if the restaurant stayed open. Now, Phil said they’ve lost $200,000 since they made the decision to close, and that closure will no longer be temporary.<\/p>\n
\u201cIf it wasn\u2019t for COVID, I feel San Marcos probably would\u2019ve had a chance,\u201d said Pace. “The decision to close really, truly was heartfelt.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
Luckily, most of the employees have been transferred to other locations, saving them from joining the massive amount of people who are unemployed as a result of COVID lockdowns.<\/p>\n
