If you\u2019re a minimum wage worker in San Diego, you will soon see a slight increase in your paycheck.<\/span><\/p>\n

Yes, that\u2019s right, San Diego is set to increase its minimum wage to $14 an hour. Placing it above the state minimum wage of $13 per hour, and only $1 below the highest nationwide minimum wage of $15 an hour.<\/span><\/p>\n

The new rate will go into effect on January 1, 2021, which puts San Diego on track to reach the state goal of a $15 per hour minimum wage by 2023.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

With that being said, the same minimum wage bump isn\u2019t happening throughout the state of California\u2014at least not for everyone. The state minimum wage will remain at $13 an hour for employers with 25 employees or less. For businesses with 26 or more employees, the minimum hourly wage will be raised to $14.<\/span><\/p>\n
