The grants are part of a total allocation of $4,786,985 in HNP funds to several California counties.<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">I&#39;m pleased that <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/California_HCD?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@California_HCD<\/a> has awarded more funding to Orange &amp; San Diego counties to help house young adults who are at-risk of becoming homeless: <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/anX2tic4Lc\">https:\/\/t.co\/anX2tic4Lc<\/a>. <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/caleg?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#caleg<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/7nGpVtrPet\">pic.twitter.com\/7nGpVtrPet<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; Senator Pat Bates (@SenatorPatBates) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/SenatorPatBates\/status\/1288540943100960770?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">July 29, 2020<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The HNP provides funding to counties in order to allow housing navigators to better help people between the ages of 18 and 21 to secure and maintain housing, with priority given to those in the foster care system. San Diego County may use the funding to provide housing navigation services directly, or contract other housing assistance programs in the county.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&#8220;I appreciate the efforts of the California Department of Housing and Community Development to ensure every region receives its fair share of state resources to help house young adults who may become homeless,&#8221; said Senator Bates, a member of the Senate Housing Committee. &#8220;This funding will help more people during these especially challenging times.
