{"id":3690,"date":"2020-07-30T10:30:21","date_gmt":"2020-07-30T17:30:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sandiegonewsdesk.com\/?p=3690"},"modified":"2020-07-30T14:24:49","modified_gmt":"2020-07-30T21:24:49","slug":"county-supervisor-candidate-joel-anderson-leading-effort-to-save-prop-13","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sandiegonewsdesk.com\/?p=3690","title":{"rendered":"County Supervisor Candidate Joel Anderson Leading Effort to Save Prop 13"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Former state senator and current candidate for San Diego County Supervisor District 2 Joel Anderson is leading an effort to save Proposition 13 by opposing Proposition 15 on the November ballot.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Prop 13 was passed in 1978, and limits the possible increase in property taxes on residential and commercial properties. It does so by restricting annual increases of assessed value to an inflation factor that may not exceed two percent per year.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Prop 15 would implement a $12.5 billion annual property tax increase on California\u2019s businesses during a time when they\u2019ve been struggling just to stay afloat. Rising property values have left us with increased revenues, but our elected officials haven\u2019t been fiscally responsible with them.
