A handful of &#8220;County Cool Zones&#8221; are opening to help San Diegans beat the heat. These air-conditioned locations are spread throughout the county, in some of our hottest areas, and are as follows:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Borrego Springs Library<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Fallbrook Community Center<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Lakeside Community Center<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Potrero Branch Library<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Santa Ysabel Nature Center<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Spring Valley Community Center<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Valley Center Branch Library<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Cool Zones will be open Monday through Friday from noon to 5 p.m. Libraries will be offering their sites for cooling off, but not for usual library services as the COVID-19 restrictions remain in place. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Social distancing guidelines will also be in place to protect both attendees and staff. All visitors will have their temperature taken, and be required to wear face coverings.<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Stay cool out there, San Diego. Residents must not have access to air-conditioned spaces to receive fans.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&#8220;We want to thank our SDG&amp;E community partner for making this program available to give some relief from the heat to our more vulnerable residents,&#8221; said County Supervisor Jim Desmond.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">SDG&amp;E Communications Manager Jessica Packard emphasized the importance of the Cool Zones program to San Diego residents. &#8220;SDG&amp;E appreciates and supports the County of San Diego for initiating the Cool Zones program back in 2001 and for making it such a success.
