State Senator Patricia Bates, who’s a member of the Senate Housing Committee, officially announced that the California Department of Housing and Community Development awarded funding to San Diego County to put towards housing young adults who are at-risk of becoming homeless.<\/span><\/p>\n

San Diego received $480,000 from the Transitional Housing Program, part of the 2019-2020 state budget. This vital program funds child welfare service agencies, which help young adults ages 18-25 to find and maintain housing, especially those in foster care or under probation.<\/span><\/p>\n

“I thank the California Department of Housing and Community Development for awarding vital funding to Orange and San Diego counties to help house at-risk youth,” said Senator Bates.<\/span><\/p>\n
