Over the weekend, San Diego County officials announced that there were 198 new cases of COVID-19 and zero new deaths. This is with massive riots in a county of more than 3.3 million people and major reopening efforts throughout the county.<\/span><\/p>\n

The latest update yesterday showed 108 new cases with four deaths, bringing the new total to 8,837 cases and 305 deaths. Of the 305 individuals who have passed away, 291 had relevant underlying conditions that significantly increase vulnerability to the coronavirus. <\/span>These newly released numbers only show how useless continuing the lockdown would be.<\/p>\n

Fortunately, the lack of drastic increases in cases and deaths in recent weeks hasn’t been ignored by political leaders. The San Diego County Board of Supervisors approved a plan to reopen various kinds of businesses and activities. Gov. Gavin Newsom essentially approved the plan, which includes gyms, museums, hotels, zoos, amusement parks, bars, wineries, day camps, youth sports, campgrounds, television and film production, and so on.<\/span><\/p>\n
