Tenants will still owe rent, but it will be deferred until after the June 30 date.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This ordinance is the most recent in the line of Mayor Rebecca Jones\u2019 exemplary actions to protect the people of San Marcos. This new extension coupled with her <a href=\"https:\/\/sandiegonewsdesk.com\/2020\/04\/san-marcos-mayor-rebecca-jones-leading-effort-to-assist-local-businesses\/\">small business assistance program<\/a> will be key to allowing small businesses to survive this economic slump until they\u2019re able to fully reopen.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In terms of <a href=\"https:\/\/sandiegonewsdesk.com\/2020\/05\/mayor-rebecca-jones-has-positioned-san-marcos-to-reopen-safely\/\">reopening<\/a>, she\u2019s been pushing for more businesses to be allowed to safely open their doors while still maintaining public health standards.
