It is just the latest indication that this virus is a major threat to the San Diego community.<\/p>\n<p>As the <em>Voice of San Diego<\/em> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.voiceofsandiego.org\/topics\/politics\/san-diego-democrats-confront-possible-coronavirus-spread-in-their-community\/\">reported<\/a> last week, Chula Vista Councilman Steve Padilla, San Diego County Democratic Party Chairman\u00a0Will Rodriguez-Kennedy, City Council candidate Kelvin Barrios, and\u00a0San Diego Democrats for Equality member\u00a0Jehoan Espinoza have all confirmed their coronavirus infections. Several others are suspected to have suffered from the virus, but had not been confirmed at the time of publishing.<\/p>\n<p>While many in the mainstream media and national politics more broadly continue to make a convoluted partisan game out of the pandemic, Republican Party of San Diego County Chairman Tony Krvaric went a very different route in response to the news.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Here&#39;s to full, swift recoveries for <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/sandiegodems?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@SanDiegoDems<\/a> and everyone battling <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/COVID19?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#COVID19<\/a>. The time for contentious debate and rigorous campaigning will re-emerge at some point, but for now there are bigger concerns to worry about.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s refreshing to see local leaders working together in a truly bipartisan manner to put the needs of San Diegans above all else.
