\u201cContender\u201d status solidifies Maryott as a top candidate to watch in 2020<\/em><\/p>\n

(Carlsbad, CA)<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 This week, Brian Maryott was one of 35 candidates to be named to the NRCC\u2019s Young Gun \u201cContender\u201d list, the second tier of the 2020 Young Guns program.<\/p>\n

House Republican Leader Kevin McCarthy released the following statement along with the announcement:<\/p>\n

\u201cThese hardworking candidates have proven their ability to run strong, competitive campaign operations. We\u2019re going to ensure these contenders are victorious in November by forcing their Democratic opponents to own their party\u2019s radical socialist agenda.\u201d<\/p>\n

The NRCC\u2019s Young Guns program requires candidates to work towards specific goals and meet benchmarks throughout the election cycle to ensure their campaigns remain competitive, well-funded and communicative within their districts. Contender candidates have completed stringent program metrics and are on the path to developing a mature and competitive campaign operation.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m proud that the hard work and momentum our campaign is building in all corners of the 49th<\/sup>\u00a0District is being recognized by the NRCC. I\u2019m committed to winning this race in November to return our district to commonsense governance, not the partisan whims of Mike Levin and his socialist allies,\u201d said Maryott.<\/p>\n

California\u2019s 49th District encompasses portions of both northern San Diego County and southern Orange County. The district covers the coastal cities of Dana Point, San Juan Capistrano, San Clemente, Oceanside, Carlsbad, Encinitas, Solana Beach, and Del Mar. The inland portion of the district contains Rancho Santa Fe, Rancho Santa Margarita, and Mission Viejo.<\/p>\n

Maryott is a Certified Financial Planner who spent most of his career helping families save for a rainy day, send their kids to college and retire with dignity. As the Mayor of San Juan Capistrano, he has a proven record of reform and a history of working with people from all walks of life to get results.<\/p>\n
