Maienschein launched his first TV spot of the cycle \u2013 an indication of vulnerability from the newly-minted Democrat\u2019s re-election campaign<\/em><\/p>\n

(San Diego, CA)<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013\u00a0Assemblyman Brian Maienschein (AD77) launched his first campaign TV ad of the cycle this weekend, an indication of vulnerability from the newly-minted Democrat incumbent.<\/p>\n

\u201cSince Brian became a Democrat a year ago, he\u2019s spent his time in Sacramento currying favor with lobbyists and his new Democrat pals instead of working to make life better for the people that elected him. Since he doesn\u2019t have a strong record of results to run on, he\u2019s chosen to go after June instead,\u201d said Duane Dichiara, Cutter\u2019s campaign consultant.<\/p>\n

The poorly produced spot criticized June Cutter for her opposition to Maienschein\u2019s now infamous decision to switch parties to become a Democrat after spending over 20 years in elected office as a Republican.<\/p>\n

Even the Chairman of the San Diego County Republican Party, Tony Krvaric,\u00a0tweeted<\/a>\u00a0his thoughts on the ad Sunday night: \u201cWhat genius came up with this @BMaienschein ad? It tells Republican voters in #AD77 that @junecutter is one of them – and an attorney to boot. It further tells them Brian abandoned them. Other than the picture this could have been a June Cutter ad. Thanks for the messaging Brian!\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cVoters on both the left and the right are tired of watching career politicians like Brian Maienschien get away with putting the whims of special interests above the needs of their community. With me, you always know where I stand,\u201d said June Cutter, Republican AD77 candidate challenging Maienschein.<\/p>\n

The 77th District encompasses northern San Diego and portions of North County, including the city of Poway. It also contains the Marine Corps Air Station Miramar. The District\u2019s voter registration is nearly evenly split between Republicans, Democrats, and Independents.<\/p>\n
