(San Diego, CA)\u00a0<\/strong>– The Greater San Diego Association of Realtors (SDAR) today announced their endorsement of Joe Leventhal for District 5 San Diego City Council.<\/p>\n

As the largest trade association in San Diego County with more than 20,000 members, SDAR is considered the preeminent voice of real estate in the region. With a mission to keep the industry strong, SDAR is dedicated to protecting private property rights and to helping San Diego families realize their dream of homeownership. SDAR champions legislative issues to lower housing costs and expand homeownership opportunities for all San Diegans.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m proud to have the support of the Greater San Diego Association of Realtors particularly given its focus on our region\u2019s housing shortage and the protection of private property rights. I look forward to working with SDAR toward innovative ways to increase the housing supply in San Diego,\u201d said Leventhal.<\/p>\n

This latest endorsement adds to an ever-growing list of Leventhal\u2019s supporters. Joe has already been endorsed by San Diego Mayor Kevin Faulconer, San Diego District 5 City Councilman Mark Kersey, retired San Diego Police Chief Shelley Zimmerman, homeless advocate Father Joe Carroll, San Diego County Board of Education Vice President Mark Powell, San Diego County Supervisor Jim Desmond, San Diego County Supervisor Dianne Jacob, San Diego City Councilmen Scott Sherman and Chris Cate, the San Diego Regional Chamber of Commerce, and the Associated Builders and Contractors of San Diego, among others.<\/p>\n

Once elected to the San Diego City Council, Joe will prioritize solutions to reduce homelessness, enhance public safety, and expand road repairs. Joe believes that bold, collaborative leadership, as he\u2019s demonstrated throughout his life, is the best way to approach San Diego\u2019s persistent challenges.<\/p>\n

The 5th District includes the communities of Black Mountain Ranch, Carmel Mountain Ranch, Scripps Ranch, Rancho Bernardo, Rancho Pe\u00f1asquitos, Sabre Springs, San Pasqual, and Torrey Highlands. The District\u2019s registration is nearly evenly split between Republicans, Independents, and Democrats.<\/p>\n
