Joe has already been endorsed by San Diego Mayor Kevin Faulconer, current district 5 City Councilman Mark Kersey, former district 5 Councilman Carl DeMaio,\u00a0Councilman Scott Sherman,\u00a0retired San Diego Police Chief Shelley Zimmerman, homeless advocate Father Joe Carroll, and numerous other local elected officials, civic leaders and organizations.<\/p>\n

The 5th District includes the communities of Black Mountain Ranch, Carmel Mountain Ranch, Miramar Ranch North, Rancho Bernardo, Rancho Encantada, Rancho Pe\u00f1asquitos, Sabre Springs, San Pasqual, Scripps Miramar Ranch and Torrey Highlands. The District\u2019s registration is nearly evenly split between Republicans, Independents, and Democrats.<\/p>\n
