Sherman Urges SDSU to Fix Traffic Mitigation Flaws in Draft EIR<\/i><\/p>\n
San Diego<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 Today, the City Council voted unanimously to direct the City Attorney to begin a draft Purchase and Sale Agreement (PSA) for the sale of the former Chargers stadium site to San Diego State University. The PSA will be drafted based on recent analysis by the Independent Budget Analyst (IBA) and the City Attorney\u2019s office that ensures taxpayers are given a fair deal and the city\u2019s general fund is protected.<\/p>\n While the City and SDSU are getting close on a price to sell the property, inadequate traffic mitigation measures in SDSU\u2019s draft Economic Impact Report (EIR) is still a serious concern that if not fixed, could negatively affect District 7 residents for decades after a deal is made. It is vitally important to Councilmember Sherman and the constituents he represents that binding traffic mitigation measures are included in the final deal.<\/p>\n \u201cI appreciate the hard work of city staff and SDSU representatives in getting us this far. I believe we are extremely close in reaching a deal,\u201d said Councilmember Sherman. \u201cHowever, serious traffic mitigation flaws in the draft EIR must be corrected before an agreement is signed.\u201d<\/p>\n
