San Diego Mayor Kevin Faulconer endorses former City Ethics Commissioner Joe Leventhal for San Diego City Council, District 5<\/em><\/p>\n

(San Diego, CA) \u2013 San Diego Mayor Kevin Faulconer today announced his endorsement of former San Diego City Ethics Commissioner Joe Leventhal for City Council, District 5.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m\u00a0endorsing Joe Leventhal for City Council because he is an effective leader that will get results for San Diego,\u201d said Mayor Faulconer. \u201cVoters can count on Joe to fight for fiscal reform, keep government accountable to the public, and provide real solutions to our homelessness crisis.\u201d<\/p>\n

Kevin Faulconer served on the San Diego City Council before he was elected mayor in 2014, making San Diego the largest city in the United States with a Republican mayor. Faulconer\u2019s agenda of fiscal responsibility, job creation, and common-sense governance has earned him a reputation for getting things done for the City of San Diego.<\/p>\n

\u201cI am proud to have Mayor Faulconer\u2019s endorsement and support. Mayor Faulconer has been a tireless advocate for government reform and has been a leader in our state in addressing the homeless crisis. I will continue to advance these priorities as your next City Councilman,\u201d said Joe Leventhal.<\/p>\n

Joe has already been endorsed by San Diego City Councilman Mark Kersey, retired San Diego Police Chief Shelley Zimmerman, homeless advocate Father Joe Carroll, San Diego County Board of Education Vice President Mark Powell, San Diego County Supervisor Jim Desmond, San Diego County Supervisor Dianne Jacob, San Diego City Councilman Scott Sherman, the San Diego Asian Americans for Equality, and the Associated Builders and Contractors of San Diego, among others.<\/p>\n

Once elected to the San Diego City Council, Joe will prioritize solutions to reduce homelessness, enhance public safety, and expand road repairs. Joe believes that bold, collaborative leadership, as he\u2019s demonstrated throughout his life, is the best way to approach San Diego\u2019s persistent challenges.<\/p>\n

The 5th District includes the communities of Black Mountain Ranch, Carmel Mountain Ranch, Miramar Ranch North, Rancho Bernardo, Rancho Encantada, Rancho Pe\u00f1asquitos, Sabre Springs, San Pasqual, Scripps Miramar Ranch and Torrey Highlands. The District\u2019s registration is nearly evenly split between Republicans, Independents, and Democrats.<\/p>\n
